The Best Men's Hamilton Watches for Under...

Hamilton watches are a long running company.  They started as an American company.  Incorporating in 1892.  They produced their first watch, the 936, in 1893.  They produced pocket watches and wrist watches from that point on.  In 1971 the Omega/Tissot group purchased Hamilton, creating the three primary companies that was later to be named Swatch.

Hamilton watches are no longer made in America.  They have been solely produced in Switzerland since the mid 1960's.  But they tend to have an American feel to them, at least to me.  I think they are great watches, and are well deserving of a post here on the best men's watches under.

Best men's chronograph watchesThe Pilot Pioneer Chrono Qaurtz is a homage to the military aviation watches from the 1970's, this one was very similar to the model that Hamilton designed for the British Royal Air force.

The case is a 41mm stainless steel style, with large band lugs.  The crown is located at the 3 o'clock position and the chronograph function buttons are located at the 2 & 4 o'clock positions.  The lens is stainless steel.  The white dial face has black Arabic numerals marking the hour indexes.  The 12 o'clock numeral has super luminova for nighttime view-ability.  There is a date window at the 3 o'clock position, and there is a chronometer minute timer at the 10 o'clock position and a second counter at the 6 o'clock position.  The hands flare before tapering back down to fine points, and are also imbued with the super lumminova illumination.  The band is a NATO canvas material, with a buckle style clasp.  This watch was also on my best men's chronograph watches for under... Part 1.  It is a fine watch.  The biggest negative I can give it is the quarts movement.  But it is a swatch group watch, and they are known for making good quartz movements.

I can usually find this watch through online retail stores for right around 400 dollars, give or take 15 dollars.  It's a nice, entry level option, if you would like to own a Hamilton watch.  It should be robust and last for a nice long time.

Titanium Auto

Band width: 20 mm, Nylon
Movement: ETA 2824-2 Automatic movement

Battery: N/A
Water resistance: 100M/330 ft

The Titanium Field Auto is a watch designed for active lifestyles.  It is a 42mm titanium case with the crown at the 3 o'clock position, both with a matte black finish.  There is a sapphire lens on both the front and back of the watch.  The dial face is black is Arabic numerals marking the hours.  There is a date window at the 3 o'clock position and the hour and minute hands, along with the hour markers are imbued with the super luminova, for easy nighttime viewing.  The band is either a NATO canvas or Titanium.

The movement for the Titanium field watch is a ETA 2824-2 automatic movement.  It is a highly used automatic movement for the Swatch Group.  It very well may be the most popular movement currently in production.  The movement has 25 jewels, and runs at 28,800.  It is a quality movement.

I can usually find the Titanium Auto for around 650 dollars from the online retailers.  Well below the 1000 dollar price point.  In fact, the value of this watch was good enough for it to make the 5 best men's watches for under 1000 dollars.

Jazzmaster Maestro Auto Chrono
Model: H32766513
Case: 45mm, Stainless steel
Band: Leather
Movement: Cal.H-21 Automatic
Functions: HH, MM, SS, Date, Day, Chronograph
Battery: N/A
Water resistance: 100M/330ft

The Jaszzmaster Maestro is a big watch.  No doubt about it.  It is a 45mm stainless steel cased watch.  The crown is at the 3 o'clock position, and the chronograph buttons are located at the 2 & 4 o'clock positions.  The watch has a thin bezel to give the face a much more prominent look with the watch.  There is a sapphire lens on both the front and the back of the watch.  The face is white with gold toned hour markers in Arabic numerals.  The day/date window is located at the 3 o'clock position, and the chronograph dials are located at the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock positions.  The watch hands are gold, this includes the chronograph sub dial hands.  The band is a brown leather band, with a buckle style clasp.

The movement is a Caliber H-21 Automatic, This is a ETA 7750 base movement.  These movements have been in production since 1974.  They have remained almost the same for nearly 40 years.  They are wonderful movements.  They are large, hence the large watch.  But they are great movements.  They have 60 hour power reserves.  They have 25 jewels, and run at 28,800 bph.  they have chronograph function as well as day and date.

This watch can usually be found in the online retail shops for around 1300 dollars.  Again, it is well below the 2000 dollar price point, and it appears to be a great watch for the price.  Something to definitely consider if you are looking for a larger watch.  The movement is a proven winner, and the company is definitely quality.

Wrap up

Generally I like to have at least 4 watches on these company specific lists.  But, most Hamilton watches don't go above 2300 dollars.  So, it made it really hard to go above the 2000 dollar price point.  But, like I will always say, the point is about presenting companies as much as it is to review watches, here at the best men's watches under.  Hamilton makes good watches.  These watches on this list are good watches, and they have other lines which are as good.
